Explaining the meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And the Book is placed."

The Shaykh : Allah Mighty and Majestic says: What is meant by the Book? It is the Book that is placed, which consists of the pages of deeds. Indeed, each of us has a Book that he will meet on the Day of Resurrection unfolded, and it will be said to him: [Al-Isra 17:14] What is written in this Book? Good deeds are written, and evil deeds are written. The scholars differed on whether deeds that are neither good nor evil are written: some said that they are written, while others said that they are not written because no reward or punishment is attached to them. And Allah the Exalted said in Surat Qaf: [Qaf 50:18] Meaning, whatever word a person utters, he has a strict watcher over him, a strict, observing watcher who is present and does not leave him, writing down everything he utters. The apparent meaning of the noble verse is that every word is written, whether it is good, evil, or neither good nor evil. For this reason, "A man from the companions of Imam Ahmad came to him while he was ill, groaning from his illness, and he said to him, 'O Abu Abdullah, Tawus—and he is one of the great Tabi'un—says that the angel writes down the groaning of the sick person.'" Do you know the groaning of the sick person? When he starts to groan from the severity of the illness, "Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) refrained from groaning for fear that it would be written against him." If we were to count our words, we would find many words that are idle talk with no benefit. Indeed, we would find many words that are all sins, all of which a person acquires as a crime that diminishes his good deeds and diminishes his faith, because sins cause a decrease in faith.
Now, idle talk is speech that is not among the good deeds nor among the evil deeds. If someone were to say that it must be written against a person, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2500Sahih (Darussalam) This indicates that a person should not say anything but good, or else he should remain silent. But you must know that good in speech may be good in itself, or it may be good for the sake of something else. How is that? Enjoining good is good in itself, forbidding evil is good in itself, the remembrance of Allah is good in itself, and reading the Qur'an is good in itself. Is speech whose subject matter is not among the good deeds, but whose intention is to bring joy to the companion, to make him feel at ease, and to win his heart, good or not? But is it good in itself or for the sake of something else? For the sake of something else. A person may speak words that in themselves are not among the good deeds, but he intends to bring joy to his companion, to make him feel at ease, and to win his heart, so it becomes good from this perspective. Allah Mighty and Majestic says:
And the Book is placed
ووضع الكتاب[It will be said], "Read your record. Sufficient is yourself against you this Day as accountant."
اقرأ كتابك كفى بنفسك اليوم عليك حسيباًMan does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record].
ما يلفظ من قول إلا لديه رقيب عتيدNow, idle talk is speech that is not among the good deeds nor among the evil deeds. If someone were to say that it must be written against a person, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
