[Al-Ahzab 33:58] And His saying, Mighty and Majestic: [Al-Ahzab 33:58] If they are hurt, or if the believers are hurt by their earning and their deeds, does that mean they have borne a slander and a clear sin, or that their right has been taken? The first or the second?
The student: ...
The Shaykh : A man hurt a believer, but because of the believer's action. Do we say that he hurt him without right, or with right? We say with right. If your neighbor hurt you in his neighborly conduct, and you hurt him in return for what he did to you, then there is nothing on you, no sin on you, because you hurt him for what he earned. And Allah the Exalted commanded hurting the one who commits a shameful act and commits the shameful act, so He said:[An-Nisa 4:16] Complete the verse?
The student: So hurt them both.
The Shaykh :[An-Nisa 4:16] Good. So Allah commanded hurting them because they earned that and they became the cause of the hurt. So there is no aggression in hurting them. Good. So those who hurt the believers and the believing women, if it is because of the earning of the believers and the believing women, then that is from them, and there is no sin on the one who hurt them, because he took his right, or took the right of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. So when a man is subjected to a hudud punishment, is he hurt or not hurt?
