My brother lives with me in the room and gets up for the Fajr prayer, and I see him going to the mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : My brother lives with me in the same room and gets up at night for the Fajr prayer. I see him going to the mosque, but I do not get up and go with him to pray. He does not tell me, "Get up, let us pray Fajr." Is he sinful for not telling me to get up for prayer, even though I have not missed any prayer? I ask for guidance on this.

The Shaykh : Yes. He is not sinful as long as you have woken up and known that he went to the mosque. Rather, the sin is upon you. It is obligatory for you, if you know that the adhan has been called for prayer, to get up from your sleep and go to pray with the Muslims. Your delay without a valid legal excuse that permits you to delay the prayer with the congregation makes you sinful, because you have fallen into disobedience to Allah and His Messenger, unless Allah forgives you. You must repent to Allah from this laziness and negligence in your prayer, and you must go to the mosque with energy and high determination. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you. This listener, 'Adh Allah, says in his question.
