What are the obstacles to the acceptance of supplication

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Some of them, O Shaykh, say that we supplicate to Allah, but it is not answered for us... especially on rainy days, it comes...

The Shaykh : This has several issues, may Allah reward you for the question. Supplication is a cause, but there are obstacles. First is the weakness of faith and certainty. People may supplicate to their Lord while they are in doubt about His answering, so how would He answer? Second: there are obstacles such as eating what is forbidden. Now, we ask Allah to save us and you from what is forbidden. You hardly find anyone who does not eat what is forbidden. If you go to an employee and he does not attend except half the time, or say three-quarters of the time, that is forbidden. What exceeds the time of attendance is forbidden. If you go to the employee and he takes assignments that have no basis and does not exceed his place... this is forbidden. If you go to the transactions and there is deception and riba (usury or interest) and other things, supplication is a cause and it has obstacles. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned
A man, due to the length of his journey, is disheveled and covered in dust. He stretches his hands to the sky, saying, "O Lord, O Lord," but his food is forbidden, his clothing is forbidden, and he is nourished with what is forbidden. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "How can that be answered?" رجل لطول السفر أشعث أغبر يمد يديه إلى السماء يارب يارب ومطعمُه حرام وملبسه حرام وغذي بالحرام قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فأنا يستجاب لذلك
. So know that there are obstacles. Then, Allah the Exalted may withhold the specific answer that the questioner asked for and store up for him what is better, or there may be a punishment whose causes have come together, and Allah averts it from him by means of the supplication. Yes.
