Commentary on the poet's saying: "And al-Qahhar is among His attributes *** For all creation is subdued by His dominion, if He were not a Living, Mighty, and Able One *** there would be no subjugation"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And al-Qahhar is among His attributes ***" I wish he had said "among His names," because al-Qahhar is one of the names of Allah. Allah the Exalted said:
To whom belongs [all] sovereignty this Day? To Allah, the One, the Prevailing. لمن الملك اليوم لله الواحد القهار
[Ghafir 40:16]

He said: "*** For all creation is subdued by His dominion" All of creation is subdued by the dominion of Allah, the Most Great, above whom there is no dominion and no dominion comparable to His. All creatures are subdued by Allah (Mighty and Majestic), no matter how great their power may be. When He wills something, He says:
Be, and it is. كن فيكون
A rod of wood was used to strike the sea, and it split in an instant, each part becoming like a great mountain. An army marched toward the Ka'bah, and when they were in a desert land, the earth swallowed them up. They all perished in an instant, their merchants, their drivers, and those who transgressed among them. So all of creation is subdued by the dominion of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). This is in this world, and people witness it. How much more so will it be in the Hereafter? The matter will be more severe, more severe, and more manifest. He said:
"If He were not a Living, Mighty, and Able One *** there would be no subjugation nor dominion"
This means that al-Qahhar encompasses several meanings: life, might, and power. Were it not for these three meanings, He would not be al-Qahhar, nor would He have any dominion.
