The Meaning of the Poet's Saying: "And Qahr and Tawhid testify to each other *** Each for its counterpart, they are two just ones, and for that reason they are joined together in the attributes of Allah, so look at that in the Qur'an"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said: "And Qahr and Tawhid testify to each other *** Each for its counterpart, they are two just ones"
Qahr and Wahdaniyyah (Oneness), each of them testifies to the Oneness of Allah the Exalted in that. So, al-Qahhar, the One who subdues everything, indicates that nothing is equal to Him. Pay attention: al-Qahhar, the One who subdues everything, indicates that nothing is equal to Him, because if something were equal to Him, He would not be al-Qahhar in an absolute sense, for one who does not subdue everything, but only subdues at times, is not described as al-Qahhar in an absolute sense. Now, al-Wahid (the One) also testifies to this. If Allah is the Subduer of everything, it follows that He must be One in His dominion. We see that the universe is now subdued by a Lord. Is there anyone in the world, from its beginning to its end, who can escape the decree and destiny of Allah?
The student: No.

The Shaykh : So, he is subdued. He is subdued in every state. Therefore, none of the created things is fit to be a Lord. For this reason, he says:
"Qahr and Tawhid testify to each other *** Each for its counterpart, they are two just ones"
Or "two just ones" (adlan). "They are two just ones" (idlan) means they are balanced. "They are two just ones" (adlan) refers to their testimony, derived from the word for justice (adalah).
"And for that reason they are joined together in the attributes of *** Allah, so look at that in the Qur'an"
"Joined together" means that Wahdaniyyah (Oneness) and Qahr (Subduing) are joined in the attributes of Allah.
"So look at that in the Qur'an
The One, the Subduer. "
This came in the Qur'an:
To whom belongs [all] sovereignty this Day? To Allah, the One, the Prevailing. لمن الملك اليوم لله الواحد القهار
[Ghafir 40:16]
,
and all creatures will come out before Allah, the One, the Prevailing. وبرزوا لله الواحد القهار
[Ibrahim 14:48]
."
"The One, the Subduer, truly, it is not possible *** for two beings to possess Him".
