The Impossible Self-Desire: A Clarification of the Patience of the Salaf in the Face of Harm, Such as Ahmad ibn Hanbal and Shaykh al-Islam Ibn

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said: "Your self desires the impossible, by Allah"
Allah is the Greatest! Yes.
The clever person ids the one who subjugates his soul, and works for what is after death. And the incapable is the one who follows his desires and merely hopes in Allah. الكيس من دان نفسه وعمل لما بعد الموت والعاجز من أتبع نفسه هواها وتمنى على الله الأماني
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2459Da'if (Darussalam)
. So if your self desires that you reach the rank of the prophets and the inheritors of the prophets, while you have not established what the prophets established in terms of calling to Allah and patience in the face of harm in that calling, then your self is desiring the impossible, meaning this is an impossible thing. And if you look at those who established the call to Allah, you will find them to be the most severely harmed of people, meaning they are harmed more than others. Imam Ahmad, the Imam of the People of the Sunnah, was dragged through the market on a donkey, dragged through the market on a donkey, an Imam, and beaten with whips until he fainted, and he was patient, patient, steadfast in his word.
Shaykh al-Islam was paraded through the market on a cart, thrown into prison, and denied paper and ink, and even writing on the walls was denied to him, because (may Allah have mercy on him), when ink and paper were denied to him, he began to write on the walls, so they prevented that from him. Consequently, they prevented his visitors; no one came to him, and when he passed away, only his brother 'Abd al-Rahman was present with him. And such Imams, and others, and others among the Imams were harmed for the sake of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Meaning, if you reflect on history, you will find that everyone who was more upright in Allah was more severely harmed by the enemies of Allah, and this is an established fact, because Allah said:
And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals وكذلك جعلنا لكل نبي عدوا من المجرمين
[Al-Furqan 25:31]
It is necessary that for every follower of a prophet, what is there? An enemy from among the criminals, because the enemies of the messengers do not oppose the messengers for their personal selves. Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was, before the message, the truthful and trustworthy one, honored and revered among Quraysh. But when he came with the message, he became the liar, the traitor, the poet, the soothsayer, the sorcerer. Do you understand? If the criminals do not oppose the messengers for their personal selves, but rather for the truth they brought, then this truth, if it remains and people stand by it, becomes the criminals what? Enemies of it, inheritance by inheritance, inheritance by inheritance. And for this reason, the author says:
"Desiring anything other than this opinion and calculation".
Other than this opinion, or other than the opinion? Other than this opinion, meaning "this" here is a demonstrative noun and is not...
"Desiring anything other than this opinion and calculation".
