The one who accuses the innocent of his own ailment and affliction *** The act of the shameless, the most brazen of animals, like one who accuses people of the *zaghil* that *** he himself strikes, so the most astonishing of slander (meaning of *zaghil*)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said, may Allah have mercy on him:
"The one who accuses the innocent of his own ailment and affliction *** The act of the shameless, the most brazen of animals"
This means that these people accused the innocent of what? Of their own ailment and affliction. They accused us of belittling the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) or belittling Allah, whereas the truth is that they are the ones who followed this path. They accused us of the ailment and the affliction, as the poet said: "She struck me with her ailment and then slipped away". All right.
"Like one who accuses people of the *zaghil* that *** he himself strikes, so the most astonishing of slander"
He accuses people of *zaghil*, which is the one who is struck by *zaghil*—the fraud in gold or silver. He accuses people, saying, "So-and-so does not fear Allah; he deals in *zaghil*." And who is the one who strikes the coin with the fraud? It is the one who strikes it. This is strange: he is the one who strikes the coin and puts the fraud in it, then he criticizes those who deal in it.
"Like one who accuses people of the *zaghil* that *** he himself strikes, so the most astonishing of slander"
Yes, this is one of the most astonishing things.
