Reading from the poet's words: "Except by analogies, opinions, and taqlid (following a scholar without knowing his evidence)..." to the end of the chapter
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "Except by analogies, opinions, and taqlid (following a scholar without knowing his evidence), without knowledge or istihsan (juristic preference)
From whom did these rules come, from all the Companions and the followers, with excellence?
They established nothing but following their Prophet, not a loose intellect or so-and-so's opinion
Rather, they rejected opinions, as sincere advice to Allah, the caller, and the Qur'an
Is there not in the later generations (the Khalaf) contradiction and inconsistency, which indicates this to one with understanding and knowledge?
By Allah, if it were from the Most Merciful, it would not have differed, nor would it have been invalidated throughout the ages
It is like a collapse of glass, you think it is truth, and it has fallen upon a hard rock"
The Shaykh : And it has fallen
The reader: "It is like a collapse of glass, you think it is truth, and it has fallen upon a hard rock
By Allah, one with high ambition seeking this matter is not pleased with it
So its example, by Allah, in the heart of the young man, and its stability in the soil of faith
Is like a crop that grows around it thorns, preventing its growth, so you see it deficient
And so is faith in the heart of the young man, a planting from the Most Merciful in the human being
And the soul grows around it desires and doubts, and they are many in variety
So that planting returns dry and withering, or deficient in fruits every season
So you see him plowing constantly, and his harvest is scant, and this is among the greatest of losses
By Allah, if he uprooted the plants and had vision for that thorn and wild grass"
The Shaykh : For that
The reader: "By Allah, if he uprooted the plants and had vision for that thorn and wild grass
He would come with harvests like mountains, and it would be multiples without calculation".
The Shaykh : Allahu Akbar.
The student: ... .
The Shaykh : Yes, good things grow, we read, we read, if Allah wills.
