The Shaykh : The author (may Allah have mercy on him) says, and we are in the chapter refuting these people in their declaring the people of knowledge and faith to be disbelievers. He says:
"So listen now, O fair judge, and judge them*** And look now, do the two judges agree?"
Who do I judge? I judge by the Book and the Sunnah. Look, do the judgment of the Book and the Sunnah agree, or the judgment of these people?
"They are, in our view, of two types", meaning those who declared the people of the Sunnah and the community to be disbelievers. "Two types: people of ignorance*** and people of obstinacy". This means ignorant people who declare others disbelievers by following their followers, following those who follow them. And the second type: people of obstinacy and arrogance who declare others disbelievers while knowing that they are not on the truth. He said:
"And these two types
They gather and divide between their two types *** in an innovation in which there is no doubt they come together

The two types agree and differ. They agree because both are people of religious innovation, whether the ignorant one or the obstinate one; each of them is an innovator.
