The questioner : ... new printing.

The Shaykh : Do you see, I mean, does this benefit people, something like this?

The questioner : ... it will benefit, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : I spoke with him about this matter, for may Allah reward him with good, he asked me. But since you asked him and let some of those around you hear, a response is necessary. I currently have two books in hand, and I hope that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will grant me the completion of printing what is in my hand. Each book is divided into two: *Al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib* by al-Hafiz al-Mundhiri, which is well known to everyone. For about forty years, I had divided it into authentic and weak, distinguishing one from the other. It was made easy for me to print the first part of the authentic from *Sahih al-Targhib*, but it was not made easy for me to print the first part of the weak. However, now Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has made it easy for me to print the entire *Sahih al-Targhib* and the entire *Da'if al-Targhib*. I have finished the final corrections regarding the authentic, which is three volumes, and I have corrected some of the weak *Targhib wa Tarhib*. The authentic is now with the printer, as I no longer have a connection to it. The three volumes of the weak are still in my hand. The other book is *Mawarid al-Zum'an fi Zawa'id Sahih Ibn Hibban*. *Sahih Ibn Hibban* is well known among the scholars of the Sunnah and hadith as one of the books that specialized in mentioning the authentic without the weak, according to the author. This is undoubtedly a very good direction, and I had hoped that the scholars of hadith would turn to it centuries ago. Unfortunately, we have inherited many, many hadith books with their chains of narration, and this is a great blessing. But I say, unfortunately, very few scholars of hadith have turned to distinguishing the authentic from the weak among them, except al-Hafiz Ibn Hibban. However, he has some leniency or laxity in authenticating, and now is not the place to explain that. Therefore, al-Hafiz al-Haythami, who was a student of al-Hafiz al-'Iraqi and a teacher of al-Hafiz al-'Asqalani, came to *Sahih Ibn Hibban* and extracted its additions from *Sahih Ibn Hibban* to the two Sahihs, because what was not in the two Sahihs but was in *Sahih Ibn Hibban* did not require attention. But there are additions from what is in *Sahih Ibn Hibban* that are not in the two Sahihs. So al-Hafiz al-Haythami, may Allah have mercy on him, served the Sunnah by extracting these additions from *Sahih Ibn Hibban* that are not in the two Sahihs or in one of them. But considering that Ibn Hibban has some laxity in authenticating on one hand, and some errors occurred for him on the other, I felt, and Allah knows best, that I should turn to serving *Mawarid al-Zum'an* as I served *Al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib*. So I also divided it into two: the authentic additions and the weak additions. I am currently in this regard, and I have the first trial, and perhaps the second, in hand now from *Sahih Ibn Hibban*, and after that, the weak of Ibn Hibban, if Allah wills. These are four books: the authentic and weak of *Sahih al-Targhib* and *Da'if al-Targhib*, the authentic and weak of *Mawarid*. This is my work now in this regard. There is no power or strength except by Allah. Answer the mu'adhdhin, perhaps we have been occupied from answering the mu'adhdhin, because there is room now to postpone the speech... this extends his voice more than necessary.

The questioner : How many movements, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Two movements.
