The ruling on selling cassette releases, dedicating them to charitable work, and monopolizing this release

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Some shaykhs release some lectures for a sum of money,As if he says: releasing the cassette or lecture for three hundred thousand riyals, for example, or four hundred thousand, and placing it in the causes of good, while preserving the rights of printing the cassette. Is this permissible?
It is not permissible.

The questioner: He says: I do this and place it in the causes of good?Answer: This is one of the causes of good; spreading it among the people is a cause of good, better than giving it in charity to a poor person.

The questioner: Some shaykhs do not take amounts in exchange for preserving the rights of the cassette, and they preserve the printing rights for certain recordings, and these recordings do not provide this cassette for all regions, as if it is difficult to obtain it for some regions and some villages in the north or south, and it is difficult to find the cassette in that region. Is this correct?Answer: It is obligatory for the one who agreed with the owner of the lectures to provide this for everyone. If he is unable to do so, let him open the way for others.

The questioner: Your lessons are rarely found in the villages because the printing rights are preserved?Answer: No.
I tell you that the Al-Istiqamah recordings, with whom we agreed that it is a condition that they deliver them to a house of poetry where there is an old woman, the important thing is if you take something, inform us.

The questioner: One recording in the 'Unayzah region cannot provide the complete cassettes for the entire southern region?Answer: They claim that it is possible.

The questioner: This is difficult, O Shaykh! Some of the youth went to some villages and did not find your cassettes,So they said: Are these printing rights preserved for Al-Istiqamah?Answer: I say: If you find something, present it to us. There is a written contract between us and them that they provide it to all villages, and to the interior and exterior, at a reasonable price we agreed upon. But we do not want these cassettes to be a mess, and recorded on poor cassettes that do not last but a short time and get ruined. They are committed to us with strong cassettes, and delivering them to every place. And you, may Allah reward you with good, cooperate in righteousness and piety. If they do not reach some places, present them to us.
