If one hears the call to prayer through a loudspeaker, is congregational prayer obligatory upon him?

The questioner : If you please, O Shaykh, I mean, if a man hears the adhan through a loudspeaker and is a short distance from the mosque, and he has a car, is congregational prayer obligatory upon him?

The Shaykh : If he is in a place where he can hear the adhan without a loudspeaker, then it is obligatory; otherwise, it is not.

The questioner : So, with a loudspeaker, it is not obligatory, even if he has a car? May Allah reward you with good.
