The Adhan with a Loudspeaker
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 18440 )
Q 1: Is it not recommended not to use a loudspeaker for the adhan so that those who are not in a state of ritual purity do not hear it?
A 1: It is prescribed to raise the voice for the adhan, even if the raising is done with a loudspeaker, and it is heard by those who are in a state of ritual purity and those who are not. It is recommended for the listener to respond to the mu'adhdhin and to say what the mu'adhdhin says, except for the hi'lah, in which case he says: (La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah), even if he is not in a state of ritual purity; because general dhikr does not require ritual purity, and ritual purity is only required for prayer, tawaf, and reading the Qur'an from the mushaf. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
