Inquiry regarding the phrase (I am at the door of Allah)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Inquiry regarding the phrase or saying: "I am at the door of Allah"

The Shaykh : Some people use this phrase to indicate that they do not have what they are being asked about. For example, if someone asks, "Do you have money?" he says, "I am at the door of Allah." Or if asked, "Do you know such-and-such?" or "Are you a student of knowledge?" he says, "I am at the door of Allah." Or if asked, "Are you married?" he says, "I am at the door of Allah." This means he has nothing, but he asks Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) to facilitate this for him. This is the meaning of the phrase among people, and there is nothing wrong with it.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
