The Shaykh: Chapter One Hundred and Seven. "The Chapter on Whether One Says 'My Master'": "I came to listen to the speech." "Does one say 'My Master'?" He narrated with his authentic chain from Abu Hurayrah from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who said:
None of you should say 'my slave ('abdi or amati)' and a slave should not say, 'my lord (rabbi or rabbati)'. They should say, 'my boy' or 'my girl' (fatayi and fatati) and 'my master' or 'mistress' (sayyidi and sayyidati)'. All of you are slaves, and the Lord is Allah, Almighty and Exalted.
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 210

The questioner : e : Shaykh, here my maidservant or ... .

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh: No, the maidservant says to her master and mistress. This hadith established the permissibility of a male or female slave using the term "master" or "mistress" for their male or female owner. That is, the term "master" is not exclusive to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). This hadith indicated to us and established the permissibility of using the term "master" for other than Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And although the original principle is yes, and although the original principle is that the true Master is He, Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), through the tongue of His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), permitted the Muslims to use the word "master" for other than Allah (Mighty and Majestic). So this hadith is explicit. .

The questioner : e : ... Shaykh Nasser .

The Shaykh: Shaykh Nasser, you don't say "it is permissible," you say "other than that," meaning what? Yes, the important point is that the Lawgiver permitted in this hadith and in others the use of the term "master" for a slave among the slaves of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). So here He permitted the young man and the maidservant to each say "my master" and "my mistress." And there is, for example, when
Sa'd ibn Mu'adh came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was riding on his mount, and he was ill, having been struck in his armpit, with a wound in his shoulder.
was ill and could not dismount from his mount by himself. "When he came to the Messenger (peace be upon him), and the people of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh were with him, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them"; that is, to the Ansar who were with the Messenger, who are the people of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh, and he is their leader. He said to them (peace and blessings be upon him):
Rise to your Sayyid and lower him
Sahih Ibn Hibban 63:176
, so he called him "master,"
Rise to your Sayyid and lower him
Sahih Ibn Hibban 63:176
. This is permissible by the explicit text of this hadith. Likewise, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in a hadith narrated by Imam Muslim in his "Sahih":
I will be the 'Leader' of the people on the Day of Resurrection. Do you know why that is? !
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2434Sahih (Darussalam)
. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the hadith of intercession, which is a very long hadith and well-known to all people, and its summary is:
When the distress becomes severe for the people of the gathering and sweat flows from them, a delegation from them comes
. They consult with one another about what to do.
They go to Adam (peace be upon him)
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 26:4
. They address him, seeking nearness through him, asking him to call upon Allah to relieve the distress and hardship they are in.
They say to him: "O Adam, Allah created you with His Hand, and breathed into you of His Spirit, and made His angels prostrate to you. Do you not see what we are in? Will you not call upon Allah for us?" He says: "Myself, myself. I was forbidden to eat from the tree, so I ate it. Go to Noah (peace be upon him); for he is the first messenger to the people of the earth."
. They come to him and remind him - also - of the virtues that Allah bestowed upon him. He says - also - :
"Myself, myself. I called upon my people with a call. Go to Ibrahim; for he is the intimate friend of the Merciful." So they go to Ibrahim.
. They hope for his intercession, just as they did with Adam and Noah before.
He says: "Myself, myself. I lied three lies. Go to Moses (peace be upon him); for he is the one who spoke to Allah."
; so they come to Moses and ask him for what they asked of those before him.
He says: "No, myself, myself. I killed a soul without right. Go to 'Isa; for he is the Spirit of Allah and His Word." So they go to 'Isa (peace be upon him).
. They hope for his intercession - also - just as they hoped for those before him.
He says: "My soul, my soul." Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) does not mention a sin.
. Jesus, among all the messengers, does not mention a sin. But despite that,
He says: "My soul, my soul. Go to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him); for he is a man to whom Allah has forgiven what came before of his sin and what came after." So they come to the Messenger (peace be upon him).
. They say to him what they said to those before him. So the answer from him (peace and blessings be upon him) is a virtue that Allah singled him out for:
It is for me, it is for me.
. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
So I go and prostrate beneath the Throne, and I praise Him with praises I do not mention now.
. Allah (Mighty and Majestic) inspires him in that moment and in that hour with phrases by which he praises his Lord.
