Is it permissible to combine intentions in the 'Id sacrifice?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : On the occasion of 'Id al-Adha and the sacrifices, some of the brothers ask about the issue of combining intentions, for example between the 'Id sacrifice and the 'aqiqah, or the 'Id sacrifice and a vow, or the 'Id sacrifice and charity, for example for a relative or for a deceased person?

The Shaykh : No. This answer branches out from knowing the ruling of the 'Id sacrifice first, and the ruling of the 'aqiqah and the vow second. The ruling of the 'Id sacrifice is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded it, and he went so far as to say:
Whoever has the means and does not offer the sacrifice, let him not come near our place of prayer. من وجد سعة ولم يضح فلا يقربنّ مصلانا
Sunan ad-Daraqutni 27:127
Therefore, the one who is able to offer the sacrifice, the 'Id sacrifice becomes obligatory upon him. The 'aqiqah is also obligatory, for many pieces of evidence which we are not discussing now. An obligatory act does not suffice for another obligatory act; one obligatory act does not suffice for another. Even if the 'aqiqah were a recommended practice, or the 'Id sacrifice were a recommended practice, and the day of slaughtering for the child came, and he slaughtered it on the seventh day, and the seventh day was one of the days of 'Id al-Adha, this would be acceptable, on the assumption that both were recommended practices and not obligatory. But the reality is that both are obligatory, so he has to slaughter two animals if the birth of the child coincides with one of the days of the festival; otherwise, the 'Id sacrifice suffices until the child is born on any other day. As for the vow, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him, and whoever vows to disobey Allah, let him not disobey Him. من نذر أن يطيع الله فليطعه ومن نذر أن يعصي الله فلا يعصه
Sunan Ibn Majah 2126Sahih (Darussalam)
Fulfilling a vow is also obligatory. And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) praised a group of people who used to make vows and fulfill them, and He said:
They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. يوفون بالنذر ويخافون يوما كان شره مستطيرا
[Al-Insan 76:7]
So, the 'Id sacrifice does not suffice for the 'aqiqah, nor for the vow. Rather, each of these three matters requires its own slaughter.
