If the Day of 'Arafah coincides with Friday, how does one combine the 'Asr prayer with it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : If the Day of 'Arafah coincides with Friday, how do we combine the 'Asr prayer with it?

The Shaykh : He says: If the Day of 'Arafah coincides with Friday, how do we combine the 'Asr prayer with it? I ask: Is this questioner a pilgrim or not? If he is a pilgrim, then the pilgrim is a traveler and does not pray the Friday prayer; he prays the midday prayer. For this reason, it is established in *Sahih Muslim* in the long hadith of Jabir that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed the midday and afternoon prayers, and his standing (at 'Arafah) (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a Friday, but he did not pray the Friday prayer; he prayed the midday and afternoon prayers. And it is well known that combining the 'Asr prayer with the midday prayer is valid. Yes.
