What is the ruling on combining the ghusl for janabah with the ghusl for Jumu'ah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. The questioner asks: What is the ruling on combining the ghusl for janabah with the ghusl for Jumu'ah?

The Shaykh : What did I say?

The questioner : What is the ruling on combining the ghusl for janabah with the ghusl for Jumu'ah?

The Shaykh : There is nothing wrong with that. For example, if a person is in a state of janabah and he performs ghusl, intending thereby to remove the janabah and to perform the ghusl for Jumu'ah, there is no harm in this. It is like if a person enters the mosque and prays two rak'ahs, intending them to be the rawatib and the greeting of the mosque; there is nothing wrong with that.
And here we say: The issue does not fall outside of three categories: that he intends only the ghusl for janabah, that he intends the ghusl for janabah and Jumu'ah, and that he intends only the ghusl for Jumu'ah. So the categories are...
The student: Three.

The Shaykh : A fourth category remains, but it cannot occur, which is: that he does not intend either. This is not a possibility.
If he intends the ghusl for janabah, it suffices for the ghusl for Jumu'ah if it is after the sun has risen. If he intends both, it suffices and he receives the reward for both. If he intends only the ghusl for Jumu'ah, it does not suffice for the ghusl for janabah. Why? Because the ghusl for Jumu'ah is obligatory for one who is not in a state of ritual impurity, and the ghusl for janabah is obligatory for one who is in a state of ritual impurity. So it is necessary to have an intention that removes this state of impurity. Yes.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Do you combine them? Do you want this person to perform ghusl twice? No, he does not perform ghusl twice. Even though some scholars said that ghusl should be performed twice, there is no basis for that. Because in the Sunnah it came:
Whoever takes a bath on Friday, and bathes completely, and goes early, arriving early,* and walks and does not ride (to the mosque), and sits close to the Imam and listens to him, and does not engage in idle talk من غسل واغتسل وبكر وابتكر ومشى ولم يركب ودنا من الإمام ولم يلغ
Sunan Ibn Majah 1087Sahih (Darussalam)
So his saying:
bathes and performs ghusl غسل واغتسل
Some scholars say: "He washed away the impurity and cleaned his body, and performed the ghusl for janabah as is known." And some say: "Whoever washed," meaning whoever had intercourse with his wife, because his intercourse with her necessitates that she performs ghusl. And this indicates that one ghusl is sufficient.
