What is the ruling on seeking the help of sorcerers, and what is its expiation?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The last question, like most of the questions, Shaykh, ends with their love for you in Allah. This questioner says: I sought the help of one of the sorcerers in an important matter. Do I have a sin upon me? And what is the expiation?

The Shaykh : The answer to this question is between me and the questioner. Since he has already done it, he is now asking. A person must, if he wants to undertake something, ask about it first. Do you see if a person wants to travel from Madinah to Makkah, does he ask about the road first, or does he go and wander in the deserts and then come to ask? He asks first.
My brother, the path to the Hereafter is like the path of this world. The spiritual path is like the physical path. Do not take a path until you know it. As for doing the thing and then coming to ask? For this reason, on this occasion, we urge our brothers who go for 'Umrah or Hajj not to proceed with it until they know how to enter the state of ihram, how to perform tawaf, how to perform sa'y, and how to shorten the hair or shave it, so that they worship Allah with knowledge.

The questioner : According to the desire of the officials, Shaykh, the Fajr lesson is in Shaykh 'Atiyyah's place there in al-Huswa.

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : They say the speakers are stronger.

The Shaykh : By Allah, if the brothers agree, I have no objection.
Yes, the important thing is, do you agree that the meeting be tomorrow morning in the second location? Good, if Allah wills.
