What are the fortresses and protection from sorcery? What is the ruling on practicing sorcery? And what is the ruling on those who go to sorcerers?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What are the fortresses and protection from sorcery so that a person may guard against its evil? And what is the ruling on practicing sorcery and on those who go to sorcerers?

The Shaykh : This question includes three issues:
The first issue is protection from sorcery. Protection from sorcery is achieved by reciting the invocations that came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), such as: Ayat al-Kursi, the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah, and Say: He is Allah, the One, and Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak, and Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind. A person should recite them while being certain that they are protection for him.
For:
Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi in the night, a guardian from Allah will not cease to be over him, and no Shaytan will approach him until he becomes morning.
,
And whoever recites the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah in the night, they will suffice him.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2:301
.
And Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak and Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind contain seeking refuge from sorcerers from the evil of those who blow on knots. A person should use these invocations that came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) every day and night to protect him from the evil of people who envy and from the evil of sorcerers.
As for the second issue, it is practicing sorcery. If practicing sorcery is done by seeking the help of Shayatins, it is disbelief, as evidenced by the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]." And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah. And the people learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew that whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.
[Al-Baqarah 2:102]
.
As for if the sorcery is by means of medicines and the like of that which does not involve seeking the help of Shayatins, it does not reach the level of disbelief, but it is obligatory for the one in authority to do what is required of him to prevent these people.
And as for the third issue, it is going to sorcerers. We say in answer to it: It is not permissible for a person to go to a sorcerer in order to undo the sorcery, because this leads to many harms, among which are:
Honoring these sorcerers and increasing their number, because it is known that souls are inclined to love money, and if a person takes money, and it may be a large amount, for undoing sorcery, then that is an incentive for people to learn sorcery in order to undo it, resulting in great harm and extortion of people's money.
And here we say: In the permissible medicines and the supplications that came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the verses of the Qur'an, there is what suffices for this by the permission of Allah.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
