The Prohibition of Seeking the Help of Sorcerers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A person was in one region and then sought the help of a sorcerer to move to another region to be closer to his parents so he could be dutiful to them; because he was unable to transfer to that region through official channels. It has been six years since he sought the help of that sorcerer. What is the ruling on the salary he received during all these years?
This is forbidden (haram) for him, and I seek refuge in Allah, and it may lead to disbelief (kufr); because the sorcerer will seek the help of the devils, and the devils generally do not help anyone except through associating partners with Allah (shirk). So he must repent to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for what he did, and if he repents to Allah for what he did, Allah the Exalted said:
So whoever has received an admonition from his Lord and desists may have what is past, and his affair rests with Allahفَمَنْ جَاءَهُ مَوْعِظَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ فَانْتَهَى فَلَهُ مَا سَلَفَ وَأَمْرُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ
[Surat al-Baqarah: 275] .
And I would like him to leave this job for another job; because this is, in reality, a job that is a consequence of something that is not permitted, but we do not think there is any injustice to anyone in it.So we do not say: He must relinquish it, but I would like him to relinquish it, and I see that that, if Allah wills, is part of the completion of his repentance, and perhaps Allah will make him steadfast if He knows from him the sincerity of intention and repentance to Allah.
