Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And they said, 'All praise is due to Allah, who has made us inherit the earth. We take our place in Paradise wherever we wish. So excellent is the reward of those who work.'"
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :[Az-Zumar 39:74] They said, praising Allah the Mighty and Majestic: [Az-Zumar 39:74] He promised us Paradise and it was realized. [Az-Zumar 39:74] As for the earth, it was said that it refers to the earth of this world, because Allah the Exalted granted them victory and made them inherit the land, dwellings, and wealth of the polytheists. It was also said that it refers to the land of Paradise, and the first opinion is more correct. Allah made them inherit the earth of this world, so it became theirs, and He made them take their place in Paradise wherever they wish. Each one goes to the other with a visit, comfort, joy, and delight. [Az-Zumar 39:74] This is praise for this reward that they received.
Is this from Allah, or are they saying it as an acknowledgment of it? Both possibilities are valid, and the verse is suitable for all.
And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has fulfilled for us His promise
وَقَالُوا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي صَدَقَنَا وَعْدَهُwho has fulfilled for us His promise
الذي صدقنا وعدهand made us inherit the earth [so] we may settle in Paradise wherever we will
وَأَوْرَثَنَا الْأَرْضَ نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ نَشَاءُAnd excellent is the reward of [righteous] workers."
فَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَIs this from Allah, or are they saying it as an acknowledgment of it? Both possibilities are valid, and the verse is suitable for all.
