Inheriting land and making it a mosque: who receives the reward
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first and second questions from Fatwa number ( 16361 )
Q 1: I have a piece of land that came to me through inheritance from my father (may Allah have mercy on him). Half of that land is residential and half is agricultural. I donated that land for the construction of a mosque with all its facilities, including parking lots, restrooms, and so on. This has already happened, praise be to Allah. However, some people told me that I will not receive any reward for this, and that the reward belongs to my father because he was the owner of the land and I inherited it from him without any effort. Is this correct?
A 1: You will receive the reward, if Allah wills, for making the land you inherited from your father a mosque, because it is your property. Your father also receives reward for bequeathing it to you. So, if Allah wills, both of you will be rewarded with a sincere intention.
