How to reconcile Allah’s saying, “When the sun is folded up,” with the hadith that the sun will draw near to the creatures on the Day of Resurrection?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. A questioner asks: How can we reconcile Allah’s saying:
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness]
[At-Takwir 81:1]
with the hadith:
The sun will draw near to the creatures on the Day of Resurrection
?

The Shaykh : Various things are mentioned regarding the Day of Resurrection, but we ask: How long is the Day of Resurrection? Fifty thousand years. Conditions change; the sun draws near to the creatures and is then folded up. Likewise, it is cast into the Fire as a humiliation for those who worshipped it. The Day of Resurrection is not a day, a month, or a year. Look at the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
On the Day [some] faces will turn white and [some] faces will turn black
[Ali 'Imran 3:106]
and His saying:
And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed.
[Taha 20:102]
There is a difference between blueness and blackness. And look also.
The last question we answered?

The questioner :
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness]
[At-Takwir 81:1]
Reconciling the verse.

The Shaykh : We mentioned that the Day of Resurrection, in the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy, is fifty thousand years in duration, and that the conditions within it change and transform. We mentioned that Allah the Exalted said about the Day of Resurrection:
On the Day [some] faces will turn white and [some] faces will turn black
[Ali 'Imran 3:106]
and He said:
And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed.
[Taha 20:102]
Likewise, He informed us that the polytheists will say:
"By Allah, our Lord, we were not those who associated."
[Al-An'am 6:23]
In another verse, He said:
That Day, those who disbelieved and disobeyed the Messenger will wish they could be covered by the earth. And they will not conceal from Allah a [single] statement.
[An-Nisa 4:42]
So in the first instance, they said:
"By Allah, our Lord, we were not those who associated."
[Al-An'am 6:23]
in the first verse, and in the second, they said:
they could be covered by the earth. And they will not conceal from Allah a [single] statement.
[An-Nisa 4:42]
because the conditions change; at one time they admit it, and at another time they do not. So any discrepancies you encounter regarding the Hereafter are due to the length of what? The length of its duration and the change of conditions within it.
