You said that the sun approaches within a mile on the Day of Resurrection, so what is the meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "When the sun is wrapped up"?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : You said that the sun approaches within a mile on the Day of Resurrection, so what is the meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] إذا الشمس كورت
[At-Takwir 81:1]
?

The Shaykh : Yes, the answer to this, my brothers, is that Allah the Exalted mentioned multiple states on the Day of Resurrection, and none of them contradict each other; they do not negate one another. Because how long is the Day of Resurrection? How many days? How long? How many days? Fifty thousand years. In this day, conditions change. So
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] إذا الشمس كورت
[At-Takwir 81:1]
does not contradict the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
The sun approaches the creatures within a mile إن الشمس تدنو من الخلائق قدر ميل
.
So the answer is: If you see something differing in the conditions of the Day of Resurrection, say that the matter is time. What is the time? The time is long, and conditions change. Did not Allah the Exalted inform us that the polytheists will deny that they associated partners with Allah, and in another verse that they will acknowledge it? Did not Allah the Exalted inform us that faces will turn black and white, and in another verse He said that the criminals will be gathered on that day blue? The conditions of the Day of Resurrection cannot have authentic texts that contradict each other, because it is a long time in which conditions can change.
