Explanation of the author's statement: "And the sun will be brought near to them."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He says, (may Allah have mercy on him): "And the sun will be brought near to them, and their sweat will bind them."
"Brought near" means that the sun will be close to them.
On that Day, the sun will be close to them by the distance of a mile. Is this mile a distance or a mile of the eye's makeup? Either way, whether it is a mile of the eye's makeup, which is very close to the head, or a mile of distance, which is one-third of a farsakh, it is close. If its heat is such in this world, and there is a great distance between us and it, how will it be when it is a mile from the heads?
Someone might say: It is known now that if the sun were to come closer by the width of a hair from its level, it would burn the earth. Yes, so how is it possible that on that Day it is at this distance and does not burn the creation?
The answer to that is: People will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection, not in the state of strength they are in now, but they will be stronger, greater, and more enduring.
If people were to stand for fifty days in the sun now, with no shade, no food, and no drink, could they do that today? No, they would die! But on the Day of Resurrection, they will remain for fifty thousand years, with no food, no drink, and no shade, except for those whom Allah (Mighty and Majestic) shades. And yet, they will witness great terrors; they are not sleeping or standing without seeing anything, but they will see very great things, and yet they will endure.
In the punishment of Hell, how do they endure this great endurance? Whenever their skins are cooked, Allah replaces them with other skins.
As for the people of Paradise, a person looks at his slave, who is a journey of a thousand years or two thousand years away, and sees his farthest point as he sees his nearest point. We now cannot see a journey of half a day, can we? No, not at all. We cannot see the end of the nearby market as we see our side.
So, the bodies on the Day of Resurrection are not like the bodies in this world in terms of endurance. The sun will be brought near to them to this distance, and yet they will not burn, because Allah (Mighty and Majestic) gives them the strength to endure all the difficulties that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) decrees on that Day. The author, Zayn, said: "The sun will be brought near to them". Is there anyone among them who is safe from it?
The answer is: Yes, there are people whom Allah shades in His shade on a Day when there is no shade except His, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us:
(1) a just ruler; (2) a young man who has been brought up in the worship of Allah, (i.e. worship Allah (Alone) sincerely from his childhood), (3) a man whose heart is attached to the mosque (who offers the five compulsory congregational prayers in the mosque); (4) two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and part in Allah's cause only; (5) a man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for an illegal sexual intercourse with her and says: I am afraid of Allah; (6) a person who practices charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much he has given in charity). (7) a person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes get flooded with tears.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1423
.
And there are also other categories of people whom Allah shades in His shade on a Day when there is no shade except His.
And His saying: "No shade except His" means except the shade that He creates, and it is not as some people imagine that it is the shade of the Lord's (Mighty and Majestic) self. No.
But in this world, we have shade. We are the ones who build roofs and take shade under them, trees under which we take shade, and caves under which we take shade. But on the Day of Resurrection, there will be no buildings, no trees, and no caves, only the shade of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that He (Glorified and Exalted is He) creates, under which He shades whom He wills of His servants.
