Taking from the hair of the body is divided into three categories

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This is because taking hair is divided into three categories: a category that is commanded, a category that is forbidden, and a category about which there is silence.
How many categories are there now?
The student: Three.

The Shaykh : Three: a category that is commanded, such as the pubic hair, the armpits, and the mustache. This is commanded to be removed, but the mustache is to be trimmed, not shaved, because shaving the mustache is disfiguring. In fact, some scholars said: "The one who does it should be disciplined". As for trimming it and shortening it, this is from the Sunnah. Plucking the armpits is recommended, and shaving the pubic hair is recommended. These are three types of hair that one is commanded to remove or reduce, in the case of the mustache.
Another category is forbidden, and that is the beard. The beard is forbidden to shave. It is haram for a person to shave his beard. And the wonder that never ends is that you see many Muslims today shaving their beards, even though growing the beard is the way of whom? The way of the messengers (peace be upon them). Here is the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with a thick beard, and here is Harun who said to Musa:
O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head يَا ابْنَ أُمَّ لا تَأْخُذْ بِلِحْيَتِي وَلا بِرَأْسِي
[Taha 20:94]
. And shaving the beard is the way of whom? The way of the Zoroastrians and the polytheists. Oh, glory to Allah! You are a believer in Allah and His Messenger, do you prefer the way of the Zoroastrians and the polytheists over the way of the master of the messengers? No, by Allah. And for this reason, we advise our brothers against this action, in which a person declares his opposition to Allah and His Messenger, because the beard on the face, every person who meets you while he is shaving his beard, says: I testify that I have opposed the Messenger. I seek refuge in Allah. And this is serious, very serious. So shaving the beard is haram.
And from that also is what we mentioned, plucking the eyebrows, which is plucking the hair of the face. This is from the forbidden.
What remains for us is what is silent upon, such as the hair of the arm, the hair of the chest, and the hair of the leg. This is silent upon. Some scholars say that there is no harm in taking it, because what Allah and His Messenger are silent upon is a dispensation. And some said that it is disliked. And some said it is haram, because it is from changing the creation of Allah. But I see that the better thing is not to take it unless it is disfiguring. But the abundance of hair in men is manliness. In women, it may be disfiguring for the woman. So the man does not like to see his wife with a lot of hair on the leg and arm, so she reduces it, and there is no harm. Yes.

The questioner : The hairdressers.

The Shaykh : We remain with the hairdressers now. If she plucks the eyebrows, this is haram. And if she does not pluck the eyebrows, it is looked at: did she charge for her work or more?
The student: A lot.

The Shaykh : Did she charge for her work or more? Okay, the work may remain three hours for this adornment. One hundred riyals per hour, right? More than one hundred riyals per hour. I fear that it may be from extravagance. Yes.
The student: The bride...

The Shaykh : The bride, Allah has placed love between her and her husband, so she does not need this. And if it is the other one, even if she is beautified with the most beautiful adornment, it does not benefit. We ask Allah to unite the two brides with good and to guide everyone to what is good and right.
