Is it permissible for a Muslim maid to accompany her sponsor's family to perform Hajj and 'Umrah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says:The questioner : Is it permissible for a Muslim maid to accompany her sponsor's family to perform the obligatory Hajj or 'Umrah?

The Shaykh : First, we hold that a maid should not be brought along except with a mahram (a relative one may not marry) for her, because of the fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) and harm we hear about when a maid comes without a mahram. So a mahram is necessary. However, if it is assumed that this person has brought her and it is not possible to return her to her family, and they have performed Hajj or 'Umrah, and no trustworthy person remains in the house for her to stay with, then there is no harm in her accompanying them in this situation. Because accompanying them is less of a fitnah than if she remained in the house alone or with people who are not trustworthy. Yes.
