Discussion on the Noble Qur'an
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And may Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the Pious, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. A brief discussion on what we spoke about yesterday regarding zakah, then we will accept questions, if Allah wills. And we ask Allah to guide us and you to the truth.
We mentioned last night that there is absolutely no contradiction in the Noble Qur'an. So where is the evidence for that? Where is the evidence for that from the Qur'an?
The student: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan.[An-Nisa 4:82].
The Shaykh : Well done. May Allah bless you. His saying, the Exalted:[An-Nisa 4:82]. So these are examples. What was the example we discussed yesterday? Please.
The student: ... .
The Shaykh : Al-Imran. Good. His saying, the Exalted:[Taha 20:102]. And His saying, the Exalted: [Ali 'Imran 3:106]. And blueness is not blackness, so how do we reconcile these two verses? Yes. Please stand up, may Allah bless you.
The student: It can be said that the length of time, fifty thousand years, might cause a change.
The Shaykh : Well done.
The student: Or it is from the effects of sins.
The Shaykh : Yes
The student: ... .
The Shaykh : Well done, perfect. And the answer is from two angles, or from one angle: either it is said that the Day of Resurrection is a long day, its measure being fifty thousand years, and conditions change, so faces become blue or black and change; or it is according to the crime and the sin. Good.
And another example
The student: His saying, the Exalted:[An-Nisa 4:79]. And the second verse: [An-Nisa 4:78].
The Shaykh : Say, all
The student: Say, all is from Allah
The Shaykh : This is in the first verse, it said:[An-Nisa 4:79]. And here it said: [An-Nisa 4:78]. How is the reconciliation?
The student: The reconciliation between them is His saying:[An-Nisa 4:78]. That they used to take omens by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: And the second verse is that the bad thing happens because of the mention...
The Shaykh : Ah
The student: ... .
The Shaykh : Meaning, its attribution to Allah is from the perspective of attributing the created to the Creator, and its attribution to the Messenger is from the perspective of attributing a thing to its cause. Good, may Allah bless you.

Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction.
أفلا يتدبرون القرآن ولو كان من عند غير الله لوجدوا فيه اختلافا كثيراThe Shaykh : Well done. May Allah bless you. His saying, the Exalted:

And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed.

The student: His saying, the Exalted:
What comes to you of good is from Allah, but what comes to you of evil, [O man], is from yourself
ما أصابكم من حسنة فمن الله وما أصابكم من سيئة فمن نفسكand if evil befalls them, they say, "This is from you."
وإن تصبهم سيئة يقولوا هذه من عندكThe Shaykh : Say, all
The student: Say, all is from Allah
The Shaykh : This is in the first verse, it said:

قل كل من عند اللهThe student: The reconciliation between them is His saying:
