What is the ruling on repeating the visit to the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and what is prescribed when visiting?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A questioner asks about the ruling on repeating the visit to the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and what is prescribed when visiting his grave (peace and blessings be upon him).

The Shaykh : Yes, repeating the visit to the grave of the Prophet is not from the Sunnah; it is not from the practice of the Rightly Guided Caliphs or the Companions. Rather, a person visits it, for example, once on Friday, or a traveler when he arrives in Madinah and prays in the mosque, he visits it. And if he intends to travel, he also visits it. As for repeating that for every obligatory prayer or every Fajr prayer, there is no basis for it.
And when a person finishes his prayer, and when a person prays Fajr and sees this great multitude coming to visit the grave as if they are coming to the Ka'bah to circumambulate it, he is truly pained, pained, because this is not from the guidance of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). And I bear witness, by Allah, that the love of the Companions for the Messenger is greater than our love for him, without doubt, and that the following of the Companions of the Sunnah is stronger than our following of it. As for what is said at his grave, the best of what is said is what he taught his Ummah: "Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim, for You are Praiseworthy and Majestic. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, for You are Praiseworthy and Majestic." Then he takes a step to his right to be in front of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and says, "Peace be upon you, O Successor of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah be pleased with you), and may Allah reward you with good for the Ummah of Muhammad." Then he takes a step to his right as well to be in front of the Commander of the Faithful, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), and says, "Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings (may Allah be pleased with you), and may Allah reward you with good for the Ummah of Muhammad." Then he departs. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
