The Shaykh : We return to the matter of swearing by other than Allah. Swearing by other than Allah is forbidden for us; it is forbidden for us, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih al-Bukhari 6646. There is no doubt in this. It is also mentioned in an authentic hadith: Riyad as-Salihin 1711. However, this is minor shirk (associating partners with Allah) as long as one does not believe that the thing sworn by possesses any of the reverence that belongs to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). If one does believe that, then he becomes a polytheist committing major shirk. But Allah (Mighty and Majestic) swears, and He is not judged by us. He swears by whatever He wills of His servants. But know that Allah will not swear by anything unless it is of great value. He will not swear by something trivial, but by something of great value, because the essence of an oath or swearing is to emphasize a thing by mentioning something revered in a specific form. Memorize the definition of swearing: emphasizing a thing by mentioning something revered, added to a specific form. The letters of swearing are three: the waw, the ba, and the ta.

Except by Allah, either by the name of Allah, like "By Allah," or by the name of the Most Merciful, or by the name of Lord of the Worlds, or by any of the attributes of the Divine (Mighty and Majestic) that are conceptual. .
