The meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And the Hereafter is better for you than the first."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. وللآخرة خير لك من الأولى
[Ad-Duhaa 93:4]
For the Messenger, (peace and blessings be upon him), in the beginning of his affair, was afflicted until the polytheists forced him to what? To leave the land most beloved to Allah.
And the most noble in his estimation, which is Makkah. He left it, (peace and blessings be upon him), fearing for his life. The story of the migration is famous and well-known. And on this occasion, I repeat, again and again, to my Muslim brothers that they should read the biography of the Prophet, (peace and blessings be upon him), because that increases faith and increases the love of Allah and His Messenger, and it becomes clear to him the wisdom of Allah and His Messenger, and thereby a person achieves perfect following and emulation of the Messenger of Allah, (peace and blessings be upon him). And unfortunately, if you ask some people about the history of a great one of the great disbelievers, when was he born and how did his life develop? He says, "He was born in such-and-such, and his life developed thus and so." But if you ask him about the Messenger of Allah, he says, "I do not know." And at that time, we ask the brother, please, you. Stand up. In which year did the Prophet, (peace and blessings be upon him), migrate in terms of his noble age? In which year did he migrate in terms of his noble age?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : You do not know? Be patient, my brother. Be patient. Do you allow us to turn the question to someone else? Rest. Yes.
The student: He migrated when he was fifty-three years old.

The Shaykh : Did you hear? He says, "He migrated when he was fifty-three years old." Correct? Yes. May Allah reward you. Because he resided in al-Madinah for ten years. So the Prophet, (peace and blessings be upon him), says, Allah said to him:
And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. وللآخرة خير لك من الأولى
[Ad-Duhaa 93:4]
I say: The Hereafter is what? The abode of the Hereafter is better for you than the first, or that the Hereafter, meaning the outcome, is better for you than the first. So in this is a glad tidings from Allah, (Mighty and Majestic), to the Messenger, (peace and blessings be upon him), that Allah will make the outcome for him.
And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. وللآخرة خير لك من الأولى
[Ad-Duhaa 93:4]
Yes? Yes, and by Allah, it is better than the first for whoever followed him, outwardly and inwardly, in creed, worship, morals, and dealings. Four things: he followed him outwardly and inwardly in what? In creed, worship, morals, and dealings.
Every person who follows the Messenger, (peace and blessings be upon him), in these things, then the Hereafter is better for him, better for him than the first.
