Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on one who takes from his beard what is called adornment and cuts some of it? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : Adorning the beard is only achieved by following what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) guided us to in his saying:
Differ from the Majus (Zoroastrians), let your beards grow, and trim your mustaches. خالفوا المجوس، وفروا اللحى وحفوا الشوارب
And there is no garment for a person, nor any adornment for a person, better than the garment and adornment of taqwa (mindfulness of Allah). Allah the Exalted said:
And the clothing of taqwa, that is the best. وَلِبَاسُ التَّقْوَى ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ
.
And when a person fears Allah (Mighty and Majestic), Allah the Exalted covers him with beauty that appears on his face and in his character, so that it becomes better for him than what he missed by committing a disobedience to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh.
