Question:
The first message in this episode is from one of our brother listeners, who identified himself by the initials (A. H). We have previously presented some of his questions in past episodes. In this episode, he asks about a number of issues. He asks Your Eminence: What is the ruling on one who cuts some of the beard, or trims it? And is it obligatory for the Muslim not to take any of it at all? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon His Messenger, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
It is obligatory for every Muslim to grow the beard, honor it, let it grow, and let it hang down, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded. He has no right to take any of it, neither by shaving nor by cutting. Rather, it is obligatory to let it grow, honor it, and let it hang down. This is based on what is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 260.
These hadiths, and what came with their meaning, all indicate the obligation of letting the beard grow, maintaining it, and letting it hang down, and that it is not permissible to shave it or cut it. This is because doing so involves imitating the people of shirk (associating partners with Allah). Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says in His noble Book: [Al-Hashr: 7]. And He (Exalted and Majestic is He) says: [Al-Nur: 63]. And He (Exalted and Majestic is He) says: [Al-Nur: 54]. Guidance and salvation lie in obeying him (peace and blessings be upon him) and following his Shari'ah in this matter and others. Yes.
The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.

Trim the mustaches and let the beards grow; be unlike the polytheists.
Cut the beards short, let the beards grow, and be distinct from the polytheists.
Trim closely the moustache, and grow beard, and thus act against the fire-worshippers.
These hadiths, and what came with their meaning, all indicate the obligation of letting the beard grow, maintaining it, and letting it hang down, and that it is not permissible to shave it or cut it. And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from
So let those beware who dissent from the Prophet's order, lest fitnah strike them or a painful punishment.
Say, "Obey Allah and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away - then upon him is only that [duty] with which he has been charged, and upon you is that with which you have been charged. And if you obey him, you will be [rightly] guided. And there is not upon the Messenger except the [responsibility for] clear notification."
The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
