What is the ruling on a person buying a shroud for himself and placing it in his wardrobe?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you with good. He says:The questioner : Is it permissible for a person to buy a shroud...

The Shaykh : Is it...

The questioner : Is it permissible for a person to buy a shroud for himself and place it in his wardrobe, or is it an innovation? Knowing that the purpose is to remember death, so that if he is taken by surprise, he will be prepared for it.
Another questioner: Repeat the question, please.

The Shaykh : Repeat.
Another questioner: Repeat the question.

The questioner : He says:The questioner : Is it permissible for a person to buy a shroud for himself and place it in his wardrobe, or is it an innovation?

The Shaykh : Yes, this is an innovation. I have not known anyone to save a shroud for himself except the owner of the cloak
Indeed, a cloak was gifted to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and a man from the Companions stood up and asked the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) for it. They objected to him, saying, "How do you ask the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) for it when he (peace and blessings be upon him) does not turn away a supplicant?" He said, "I did not ask for it to wear it, but to be my shroud."
, and this is specific to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) because he is the one from whom people seek blessing through his clothes. As for saving a shroud for a person, it is an innovation. We have also heard that some people go to the graveyards and lie down in the grave to remind themselves, and this is also wrong. The true admonition is the admonition of the Qur'an. So whoever is not admonished by the Qur'an has no admonisher. The Qur'an is the admonition. Allah the Exalted said:
O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers. يا أيها الناس قد جاءتكم موعظة من ربكم وشفاء لما في الصدور وهدى ورحمة للمؤمنين
[Yunus 10:57]
Admonition also comes through the admonitions of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), for he (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes admonish his Companions with moving admonitions that would make the eyes flow with tears and the hearts tremble. Yes.
