The Meaning of Allah’s Saying: “Their call therein is: Glory be to You, O Allah, and their greeting therein is: Peace,” and an Explanation of the Bliss of Paradise

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
Their call therein is دعواهم فيها
That is, in Paradise, meaning their state and their affair is: Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise to You.
"Exalted are You, O Allah," and their greeting therein will be, "Peace."
[Yunus 10:10]
This means that they are inspired to glorify Allah just as they are inspired to breathe. They constantly glorify Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and praise Allah, and they take delight in that remembrance because they have been inspired to do so.
and their greeting therein will be, "Peace."
[Yunus 10:10]
Yes? It means that some of them greet others with peace, meaning safety from every deficiency, from every flaw, and from every disturbance. For the people of Paradise, as Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said:
No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed.
[Al-Hijr 15:48]
. A person does not experience fatigue, neither mental nor physical, nor does he leave it, nor does he fall ill, nor does he become hungry, nor does he die, nor does he even sleep. Whoever is in Paradise does not sleep. Perhaps you will ask why they do not sleep? Sleep is rest for us. And the one who does not sleep is said in this world to be tired or sick. So how do the people of Paradise not sleep? We say, yes, they do not sleep because if they slept, they would be deprived of the pleasure of bliss during their sleep. And the bliss of Paradise is constant and continuous, and sleep is only needed by a person in this world to relieve previous fatigue and renew strength for what follows. Is that not so?
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Therefore, the more tired a person is, the more eager he is for sleep. The people of Paradise are free from every flaw and every deficiency. For this reason, He said:
in the Gardens of Pleasure
[Yunus 10:9]
[referring to] the bliss of the heart and the bliss of the body. In this world, a person may find bliss in his heart and his body if Allah bestows it upon him.
Good is the righteous wealth with the righteous man
. And a person may find bliss in his body but not in his heart. Many people have much wealth that only Allah can count, and palaces, and luxurious cars, and sons, and wives, but their heart is in constant distress. Do they benefit from this bliss? No. No, by Allah. How many people are the opposite. They have no wealth, no family, and no sons, but their heart is blissful with the remembrance of Allah (the Exalted) and His obedience. Which one is happier? The first or the second? The second is happier. For this reason, some of the Salaf said: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what we are in, they would fight us for it with swords.”. And no one has a sweeter heart or a more blissful state than the believing, pious person. Allah (the Exalted) said:
Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life
[An-Nahl 16:97]
. He did not say, “We will increase his wealth and his children,” but He said:
We will give him a good life
. So he is in constant joy of the heart. The Garden of Eternity—may Allah make me and you among its people by His grace and His mercy—the Garden of Eternity, a Garden of bliss, bliss of the heart and bliss of the body, so they are always in joy.
