The questioner : What is the ruling of the Shari'ah in your view, O honorable Shaykh, regarding those unveiled, ostentatiously dressed women who say, "We pray and we fast"? Is their work accepted based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it,
[Az-Zalzalah 99:7]
?

The Shaykh : Yes, if a believer disobeys Allah (Mighty and Majestic), he does not exit the faith merely by the act of disobedience; rather, he exits the faith by disbelief. Accordingly, if he disobeys Allah (Mighty and Majestic), this disobedience does not prevent the acceptance of his righteous deeds; rather, his righteous deeds are accepted even if he persists in this disobedience. However, it is obligatory for him, meaning for the believer, if he is aware of the disobedience, to remove it and repent to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) so that his faith is thereby realized. Indeed, the perfection and completeness of faith is that a person does not persist in disobedience. Allah the Exalted said:
(133) And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous (134) Who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good; (135) And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah? - and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know. (136) Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers.
[Ali 'Imran 3:133-136]
.
Therefore, the believer, if he is aware of the disobedience, should abandon it and repent to Allah, and he should ask Allah for beneficial knowledge by which he is able to know matters as they are.

The questioner : May Allah bless you, O honorable Shaykh.
