It is not permissible to prefer one time over another, one place over another, or one deed over another except with evidence (The virtue of the month of Ramadan, the conquests that occurred in it, and the clarification that the calendar is based on lunar months)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : So, it is not permissible for us to prefer one time over another, one place over another, or one deed over another except with evidence, except with evidence. So let us look now at the month of Ramadan, the master of the months. The month of Ramadan is the master of the months. In it, Allah revealed the Qur'an. And in it are great occasions in which the Muslims were victorious. They were victorious at Badr. In what?
The student : In Tishrin, the sixth of October.

The Shaykh : What is Tishrin, the sixth of October? There are no Islamic months called Tishrin, October, August, and the like. No, leave that alone, my brother.
The student : I forgot.

The Shaykh : No. You forgot, say, seek forgiveness from Allah.
The student : I seek forgiveness from Allah the Great.

The Shaykh : The calendar is based on the lunar months. And the wonderful thing is that the lunar months are the calendar that Allah established for the servants
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the new moons. Say, "They are measurements of time for the people and for Hajj." يسألونك عن الأهلة قل هي مواقيت للناس والحج
[Al-Baqarah 2:189]
for the people. Which people? All of humanity. These Tishrin months and what the brother mentioned. Yes, these have no basis. That is why some are twenty-eight days and some are thirty-one. A difference of three days. In any case, we leave that aside. I say that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was victorious in Ramadan at Badr and elsewhere. The conquest of Makkah, the greatest conquest, the conquest of Makkah has no parallel, because the conquest of Makkah was the purification of Makkah, may Allah the Exalted increase it in purity and honor, its purification from shirk (associating partners with Allah) and idols. And thus Allah permitted His Messenger to fight in it. Although Makkah, my brothers, was not made lawful for anyone before the Messenger, never. There was no prophet or messenger to whom Allah made it lawful to fight the people of Makkah, never. Then, did Allah make it lawful for the Messenger permanently? No. For an hour of the day. He said, and it was not, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
It has not been made lawful (i.e. fighting in it) for anyone before me, but it has been lawful for me only for a few hours on that day (of the conquest) إنها لم تحل لأحد قبلي وإنما أحلت لي ساعة من نهار
Bulugh al-Maram 739
. And it was the hour of the conquest. He said on the second day:
and today its (Mecca's sanctity has become the same as it was before (of old) وقد عادت حرمتها اليوم كحرمتها بالأمس
Sahih al-Bukhari 4295
. And he said:
If anyone from the people of Makkah fights and takes advantage of the fighting of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then say إن قاتل أحد أهل مكة وترخص بقتال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقولوا
See the answer, a convincing answer.
Say, "Indeed, Allah permitted it to His Messenger and did not permit it to you" قولوا إن الله أذن لرسوله ولم يأذن لكم
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 37:10
. And the matter is in the hand of whom? In the hand of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). He is the One who permits what He wills and prevents what He wills. Now, Ramadan is the master of the months.
