What is the ruling on the moisture that comes from a woman? Is it pure or impure? And if it is considered impure, does that require performing wudu' from istinja' when we are in a state of great difficulty and we are in the Sacred Mosque?

The questioner : The questioner says: What is the ruling on the moisture that comes from a woman? Is it pure or impure? And if it is considered impure, does that require performing wudu' from istinja' when we are in a state of great difficulty and we are in this Sacred Mosque?

The Shaykh : The moisture that comes from a woman as a matter of custom is pure; it does not make the clothes impure, nor does it make the body impure. However, it invalidates the wudu' because it is an emission from the private parts. The majority of scholars hold that anything emitted from the private parts invalidates the wudu', even if it is not urine or feces. Accordingly, if this moisture comes from her and her clothes become soiled with it, she is not obligated to wash the clothes, but she is obligated to perform wudu'. However, if the moisture is continuous with her, she takes the ruling of one who has incontinence of urine. We say: perform wudu' after the time for prayer enters, and continue in your wudu' even if this moisture comes from you, because it is not possible to get rid of it.
