How to perform the correct standing in prayer, and the position of the feet

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : How should one stand correctly in prayer, O honorable Shaykh? And also, what is the position of the feet?

The Shaykh : The correct standing in prayer is for a person to stand upright.
As for the position of the feet while standing, they should be in their natural state, neither brought together nor spread apart more than the natural position. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), when they lined up in congregational prayer, would place their heels close to the heels of their brothers. This is not like what some people do by spreading their legs more than the normal upright position, because if one spreads his legs more than the normal upright position, the space between the shoulders opens up, resulting in a separation of the shoulders.
The prescribed practice is for the shoulders to touch and the heels to touch, so that the rows are straight. However, this is on the condition that it does not cause harm to the person next to you. If it causes harm or disturbance to him, do not do it. Place your heel opposite your brother's heel without squeezing him. This is sufficient for the first time, because the purpose of this is to achieve straightness in the rows.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
