Intending to do an evil deed but leaving it off not for the sake of Allah the Exalted.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The third category is when one intends to do an evil deed, but his soul turns away from it and he has no desire for it. In this case, he receives no reward and incurs no blame. He receives no reward because it was only an intention, and a servant is not punished for an intention. However, many scholars have made an exception for the Sacred Mosque in Makkah, for Allah the Exalted said regarding it:
Indeed, those who have disbelieved and avert [people] from the way of Allah and [from] al-Masjid al-Haram, which We made for the people - equal are the resident therein and one from outside إن الذين كفروا ويصدون عن سبيل الله والمسجد الحرام الذي جعلناه للناس سواءً العاكف فيه والباد
[Al-Hajj 22:25]
Recite the verse.
The student:
and [also] whoever intends [a deed] therein of deviation [in religion] or wrongdoing ومن يرد فيه بإلحاد بظلم
[Al-Hajj 22:25]

The Shaykh :
and [also] whoever intends [a deed] therein of deviation [in religion] or wrongdoing - We will make him taste of a painful punishment. ومن يرد فيه بإلحاد بظلم نذقه من عذاب أليم
[Al-Hajj 22:25]
.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : What are you saying? What? He receives no reward and incurs no blame. The time is up. So, if Allah wills, the rest of the discussion on this will come later. I remind you once again that performing the lesser pilgrimage on the twenty-seventh night has no special virtue over any other night, and it is not permissible to single out the twenty-seventh night for the lesser pilgrimage among the other nights. Yes, and now we move on to the questions.
