The ruling on prohibiting what Allah has made lawful and its evidence.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The ruling is that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, forbade His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from this, saying:
(1) O Prophet, why do you prohibit [yourself from] what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking the approval of your wives? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (2) Allah has already ordained for you [Muslims] the dissolution of your oaths يا أيها النبي لم تحرم ما أحل الله لك تبتغي مرضات أزواجك والله غفور رحيم قد فرض الله لكم تحلة أيمانكم
[At-Tahrim 66:1-2]
So we say that this is forbidden. Do not say, "My food is haram," and do not say to your wife, "You are haram to me." Do not prohibit anything that Allah has made lawful for you.
