The Meaning of the Statement of Allah the Exalted: “Indeed, We have guided him to the path, whether he is grateful or ungrateful.”

The Shaykh : Then, Mighty and Majestic is He, He clarified that He guided man to the path, meaning He made the way clear to him, whether he is grateful or ungrateful. That is, Allah made the path clear to man, whether he is a grateful person or an ungrateful one. So who is the grateful person who thanks Allah for the blessing of guiding him to this path? It is the believer. And the disbeliever is the one who denies this blessing. So the people divided into two groups after Allah’s guidance to them: a grateful person who performed the obedience of the Bestower of the blessing, and a disbeliever who denied the blessing of the Bestower and did not perform gratitude or obedience.
