Types of Riba: Explicit Riba and Deceptive Riba.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And know, O brothers, that deceptive riba is greater than explicit riba. Deceptive riba is greater than explicit riba because deceptive riba includes the harm resulting from riba along with deceiving Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Thus, it combines two evils: the evil of riba and the evil of deception. And deceiving the Lord (Mighty and Majestic) is no light matter. Look at the hypocrite; he is more sinful than the disbeliever. Why? Because he combines two things, two evils: the evil of disbelief and the evil of deception. So, deceiving the Lord in His wisdom is greater than committing it openly for many reasons, which this occasion may not allow us to mention. But the most devastating for a person is that the one who commits deception thinks he is right, so he persists in it and does not turn away from it. But the one who commits it openly knows that he committed it openly, so he feels ashamed before Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and regrets it, and his soul struggles with him. Sometimes he overcomes it, and sometimes it overcomes him, until Allah grants him guidance. As for the deceiver, he thinks he is right, so he persists.
