Discussion of iftirash and tawruk in the sitting for the tashahhud, mentioning its description and clarifying the types of tawruk.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In the prayer, there are two sittings: the sitting for the first tashahhud and the sitting between the two prostrations, and the sitting for the second tashahhud. Does the sitting differ? Yes. In the first tashahhud, the one sitting performs iftirash, placing the left foot flat and extending the right foot. This is also the case in the sitting between the two prostrations. As for the second and final tashahhud, which is followed by the taslim, you perform tawruk, extending the right foot and bringing out the left foot from the right side. Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned that there are three descriptions of tawruk. This is one: you extend the right foot and bring out the left foot from the left side. The second description is iftirash, yes, from the right side, bringing out the left foot from the right side.
The second: you place the right foot flat and bring out the left foot from the right side.
The third description is placing the right foot flat and putting the left foot between the thigh and the lower leg. All these descriptions have been reported; the Sunnah brought them. Whichever description a person performs, he has followed the Sunnah.
