The state of the back during prostration in prayer.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Good, what Allah willed, may Allah bless you. This one also asks about the state of the back during prostration. The back during prostration is raised; it is not placed on the thigh, but raised and not extended either. Some people think that when a person prostrates, he extends his back. For this reason, we find some people who exaggerate; when you see them prostrating, they are close to being flat on the ground due to the severity of the exaggeration. This is not correct. This is also, in addition to being incorrect and not prescribed, a severe hardship for the person because he relies heavily on his forehead, and this may affect his neck. The correct way is that when a person prostrates, he raises his back and his belly, and he arches as mentioned in some wordings of the hadith in some of the books of Sunan, meaning he curves somewhat. Yes.
The student: 'Uqbah said, "When 'Umar prostrated, he knelt down like a camel kneels, placing his knees before his hands." This is in al-Tahawi with a sound chain.

The Shaykh : Yes, yes, yes. We do not want to go to the statement of 'Uqbah or other scholars now; we are only speaking about what came from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
