The Answer to the Objection of the Incarnationists in Their Use of the Saying of Allah the Exalted, "And He is the One who is in the heavens a God and in the earth a God," to Support Their False Belief.

The Shaykh : And we answer this likening and misguidance from these misguided, innovating Jahmiyyah by saying: And by Allah we speak, and by Allah we seek help. We say that Allah the Exalted said: [Az-Zukhruf 43:84]. The verse indicates that the divinity of Allah is established in the heavens and established in the earth [Az-Zukhruf 43:84] The meaning is that the divinity of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is established in the heavens and in the earth. There is no god for those in the heavens other than the people of the earth, and there is no god for the people of the earth other than the people of the heavens. Rather, He is the God of those in the heavens and the earth. This is clear. Its parallel is if you say: So-and-so is an emir in Makkah and an emir in Madinah. The meaning is that his emirate is established in Madinah and established in Makkah. It is well known that his location in one of them is either in Makkah or in Madinah; he cannot be in both of them simultaneously.
So Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is a God in the heavens and a God in the earth, meaning He is the God of those in the heavens and the God of those in the earth. As for Himself, He is in the heavens, as Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said:[Al-Mulk 67:16-17] Is it clear now? Their argument with this verse is now refuted, and it has become apparent that due to the deviation of their hearts, this verse was confused for them, and they thought that Allah the Exalted is in the earth with His essence, just as He is in the heavens.
And we have struck for you an example that clarifies the true meaning we have established, which is in accordance with the majesty and greatness of Allah. What is the example? Who knows it?
The student: So-and-so is an emir in Makkah and an emir in Madinah.
The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: Meaning his emirate is established in Makkah and in Madinah.
The Shaykh : And even if he is in
The student: One of them.
The Shaykh : In one of them completely. This is also the case with Allah: He is a God in the heavens and a God in the earth, but where is He?
The student: ... .
The Shaykh : In the heavens, above everything. And by this, it becomes clear that their argument is false. As for the verse, it does not indicate what they claimed. But whoever Allah has blinded in his insight and turned his heart away, may Allah protect us from that, truth is confused with falsehood for him, and he goes to what deviation requires. We ask Allah for safety. For this reason, it was among the transmitted supplications:.
And it is Allah who is [the only] deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] deity
وهو الذي في السماء إله وفي الأرض إلهAnd it is Allah who is [the only] deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] deity
وهو الذي في السماء إله وفي الأرض إلهSo Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is a God in the heavens and a God in the earth, meaning He is the God of those in the heavens and the God of those in the earth. As for Himself, He is in the heavens, as Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said:
(16) Do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway? (17) Or do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning.
أأمنتم من في السماء أن يخسف بكم الأرض أم أمنتم من في السماء أن يرسل عليكم حاصباً فستعلمون كيف نذيرAnd we have struck for you an example that clarifies the true meaning we have established, which is in accordance with the majesty and greatness of Allah. What is the example? Who knows it?
