If a child enters the state of ihram and then finds it difficult to complete the 'Umrah, and his guardian fears for him if he completes the 'Umrah, is it permissible for him to break his ihram?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If a child enters the state of ihram and then finds it difficult to complete the 'Umrah, and his guardian fears for him if he completes the 'Umrah, is it permissible for him to break his ihram?

The Shaykh : Yes, it is permissible for a boy who has not reached puberty, if he begins the state of ihram, to break it, and it is permissible for his guardian to allow him to do so. This is because a young boy is not held accountable and is not obligated, rather the pen has been lifted from him. So if he begins an act of worship, that act of worship is not obligatory upon him, so he may break it off, and his guardian may allow him to do so.
On this occasion, I would like to clarify to our brothers who are eager to have their children enter the state of ihram that if there is hardship in doing so for them or for the child, then they should not burden themselves and burden their children with something that is not obligatory upon them. The matter, praise be to Allah, has leeway, especially if they are very young. However, if they are on the verge of puberty, it can be said to them, "Enter the state of ihram," and they can walk with their families in the sa'y, in the tawaf, and in other things. Yes.
