Continuation of the previous discussion on the etiquette of the lawful visit to graves, along with a refutation of those who oppose this.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : They, meaning those who are invoked, will be their enemies. The evidence for this is the saying of Allah the Exalted:
when those who have been followed disassociate themselves from those who followed
[Al-Baqarah 2:166]
These are the ones whom he invokes; in this world, they will be his enemies on the Day of Resurrection, and he will disbelieve in his worship of them.
and they will be deniers of their worship.
[Al-Ahqaf 46:6]
I say, O Muslims, it is possible that no Islamic country is free from this type of people who go to the grave of so-and-so or the grave of so-and-so, saying, invoking him as they invoke Allah, hoping in him as they hope in Allah, loving him as they love Allah, and fearing him as they fear Allah. What is their ruling? They are polytheists committing major shirk (associating partners with Allah), which necessitates their eternal abode in the Hellfire and the prohibition of Paradise for them. Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.
[Al-Ma'idah 5:72]
Three, three matters follow from their shirk:
The first: The prohibition of Paradise for them.
The second: That his abode is the Fire.
The third: That he has no helper. So
The fourth: That he is an oppressor, an oppressor.
Directing worship to other than Allah is injustice against Allah. Now, these people who go to the graves, pray to Allah in the mosques, give charity, fast, and perform Hajj. How do you say that Allah has prohibited Paradise for them?
I say: I have not said anything except by the word of Allah; I have not said anything except by the word of Allah. It is Allah who says:
Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise
[Al-Ma'idah 5:72]
And He the Mighty and Majestic said:
And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible.
[Ghafir 40:60]
. It is obligatory for students of knowledge in all parts of the world, when they see such common people who go to the grave of so-and-so and the grave of so-and-so seeking his aid, that they must clarify that this is shirk.
This weak scholar, weak in spirit, might say, "I am afraid of the stones of the common people. I am afraid of what? The stones of the common people? What are the stones of the common people?" He says, "If I go to them and say this is shirk, the stones will crack my head." We say, "Be patient, my brother. First, this is a threat from Shaytan, not a reality, because Allah says:
That is only Shaytan
What?
He threatens His awliya (close friends of Allah)
So fear them not, but fear Me
[Ali 'Imran 3:175]

Second: If your head is cracked by the stones of the common people, say as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Are you not but a finger that has bled? ** And what I have met is in the path of Allah." " هل أنت إلا أصبع دميتي ** وفي سبيل الله ما لقيتي "
.
And if a person is afflicted for the sake of Allah, it is an elevation for him. Do not be like those about whom Allah said:
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah.
[Al-'Ankabut 29:10]
. Be patient, my brother. Then, if a common person throws a stone at you, you have thrown the tawhid (the oneness of Allah) into the hearts of many common people, and people will benefit from you. Never be lenient with anyone in the religion of Allah. Yes, people are dealt with regarding the religion, but do not be lenient with them. And there is a difference between what?
The student: Between moderation and leniency.

The Shaykh : What is the difference?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Well, okay. Leniency is that you accept what the one who opposes the religion of Allah is upon. Moderation is that you try to correct him, but in ways that do not hurt his feelings, with a wise manner. Many people think that moderation is leniency, so when they see a person trying to lead another to the Shari'ah but with calmness and tranquility, they say, "This is leniency." They do not know the difference between moderation, what? And what? And leniency, and the difference between them is great. Moderation is from "darr" (repelling); you want to repel this man from the falsehood he is upon, but with a manner. And leniency is from "dih" (painting), and you know that painting makes a thing soft, so it means that you soften for him and follow him in what he is upon, and you say, "Let him do what he wants, whether it is correct or defective, true or false."
The summary now is that one thing leads to another. We are talking about people going out to the graves on the day of the festival to congratulate, what? The occupants of the graves. And this is not correct, it is not a Sunnah, but it is a bid'ah (religious innovation).
This is what comes to my mind now regarding what people conclude this blessed month with, and what happens on the day of the festival. And I ask Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, to make all our festivals happy festivals in which we attain the pleasure of Allah the Mighty and Majestic, His well-being, and His forgiveness. And we ask Allah the Exalted to return such occasions to the Muslim community while it is at its most noble in its religion, strength, and honor.
